John Calvin's Institutes, first published in 1536 and expanded until 1559, is the most systematic theology of the Reformation, arranged around the knowledge of God as Creator and as Redeemer. The sections read here treat the knowledge of God and scripture, faith and predestination, and the nature of the church and its sacraments.
