Gregory of Nazianzus delivered the Five Theological Orations in Constantinople in 380, defending the divinity of the Son and the Spirit against the Arians and Eunomians. They fixed the terms of the Nicene doctrine of the Trinity, and they are as much about how theology may be done, in humility and with a purified life, as about what it says.
